Module 5- Mind-mapping and Prezi.

It is a mind-map for Web 2.0 applications in the year 2 classroom.  We could use mind mapping in our classroom.  We do a lot of collaborating during writing sessions and a lot of brainstorming together to model good writing ideas and my expectations.  We could use bubbl.us to mind-map this!

Here is a link to a Prezi I have made very quickly.  The opportunities to use this program are huge.  Items for the newsletter, posts for a class blog, presentations for parent evenings.  I really look forward to using this.

Module Four- Podcasts, iTunes, Youtube and Animoto

      

I regularly view podcasts and use iTunes in my day to day life.  Now I am starting to think about how I can use these in the classroom.

This module gave some great links to educational podcasts that I can download and view using iTunes in my classroom.

I often use YouTube in my classroom.. You are silly not to.  The access to the huge amount of educational material is vast and I have only just scratched the surface.

I also just taught myself how to use clipular!

Animoto is fantastic.  The first thing I thought of was those reflections I make on PowerPoint for school liturgies.  They would be easier to make using Animoto and they would look very professional.  Here is a quick clip that I made using some of my family photos.

Module 3. Google Docs.

Google Docs!

Well I know that a lot of staff at school use them and It's great to get in there and have a go.

I am so excited because I've just imported an excell report mark document into a google doc spreadsheet and I've shared it with my teaching partner.

Now we can both access it and fill it in without having to save and email it to each other.

Very happy with that!

Module 2. Blogging!

I've made my own blog.

I've been a follower of a lot of blogs over the years.  Blogs about craft, mums, food, etc.

Now I can set up my own!  Who knows where this will take me!

It would be a great idea to have our own class blog next year.  I'm also thinking of doing my portfolio for transitioning to full teacher's registration via a blog.

A very useful tool to have.

Hi there,

I'm making a start on the Web 2.0 course!  Hopefully then next year I will be up to speed and I can start my own class blog.
