iLearn and Bloom's Digital Taxonomy.
As I watched the "elearning with the ilearn model" video, I was glad to see an emphasis being put on creating engaging learning spaces rather than having technology as the core focus. Some of the ideas and values in the video do inspire me, especially the one about removing the barriers to learning, such as socio- economic circumstances. I also like the idea of the responsibility of learning being placed on the individual. With so much information at our fingertips, it is up to us a individuals to access what we need for our own interests. We as teachers can become good models of elearners to demonstrate to children what skills they need to become elearners themselves.
I think that Bloom's Taxonomy is very relevant to elearning since elearning can incorporate many of the skills in Bloom's such as creating and evaluating.
Final Reflection:
I've come to the end of the web 2.0 course and I have to say thank you to our principal who made completing this course a priority as it has been extremely worthwhile. Web 2.0 has opened up new doors to exciting resources and tools that I will be able to use everyday in my classroom. There are some tools that I will definitely be using on a regular basis. These tools like google sites, just make sharing information a lot easier. Google Docs, creating a document and being able to edit it from another location, makes a teacher's job a lot easier too.
I was blown away by the range of tools available. A lot of them struck me as useful ways of organizing and sharing information that you find online such as bookmarking and web feeds. Other tools seemed mainly useful in that you could create exciting new learning spaces for your students such as wikis and google sites.
So, I'm off contributing to our new learning space- the year 2 google site and to then create my class blog for this year!

Module 10. Google Sites.
This year my teaching colleague has created a Google site for us to utilize. It is the best way to communicate with parents and the wider community. We can use it for general information as well as day to day goings on in our year. We will also link a blog for each class to the site. I'm really excited about this!
Here is a link to the site which I can acknowledge Belinda Greenwood as creating. Good Job Bel!

Module 9. Scootle
I have quite often used Scootle through leads from the Australian Curriculum elaborations. It is a tool however I could use more often and I will be exploring it more this year. It looks to be a great way to find useful resources that link the general capabilities to your curriculum.
Module 8. Rss feeders and Feedly.
I've actually been reading a lot of different blogs for a number of years now. I have always known that you could subscribe to them and receive their blog updates, but I never looked into it and how to set it up.
Tonight I set up a feedly account and I've subscribed to a few blogs. Not that hard after all. And talk about time saving. Instead of me trawling through my bookmarked blogs to see who's updated theirs, I can do this simply and quickly through Feedly. Bravo!

Module 7- Social Bookmarking.
I've always thought that it was really painful to log on to the computer at work and want to use my bookmarks from my home computer, but of course they are not there.
I've now opened a Diigo account so I can do just that. I'm going to explore importing my bookmarks from my computer to Diigo further as it is a very convenient tool.
I an also see what bookmarks my colleagues are using. This is very resourceful!

Module 6- Picassa
Picassa is not a tool I would like to explore after hearing many bad reports about it from collegues.
I agree it is a good idea to back up photos and store them in a cloud. I will however be looking for a different tool to do this.
