Final reflection.

iLearn and Bloom's Digital Taxonomy.
As I watched the "elearning with the ilearn model" video, I was glad to see an emphasis being put on creating engaging learning spaces rather than having technology as the core focus.  Some of the ideas and values in the video do inspire me, especially the one about removing the barriers to learning, such as socio- economic circumstances.  I also like the idea of the responsibility of learning being placed on the individual.  With so much information at our fingertips, it is up to us a individuals to access what we need for our own interests. We as teachers can become good models of elearners to demonstrate to children what skills they need to become elearners themselves.
I think that Bloom's Taxonomy is very relevant to elearning since elearning can incorporate many of the skills in Bloom's such as creating and evaluating.

Final Reflection:
I've come to the end of the web 2.0 course and I have to say thank you to our principal who made completing this course a priority as it has been extremely worthwhile.  Web 2.0 has opened up new doors to exciting resources and tools that I will be able to use everyday in my classroom.  There are some tools that I will definitely be using on a regular basis.  These tools like google sites, just make sharing information a lot easier.  Google Docs, creating a document and being able to edit it from another location, makes a teacher's job a lot easier too.
I was blown away by the range of tools available.  A lot of them struck me as useful ways of organizing and sharing information that you find online such as bookmarking and web feeds.  Other tools seemed mainly useful in that you could create exciting new learning spaces for your students such as wikis and google sites.

So, I'm off contributing to our new learning space- the year 2 google site and to then create my class blog for this year!
